Evangelism has reaped a great harvest but the question has been rightly raised, what is wrong with the harvest? One of the most popular answers to this question is that too many Christians have stopped at 'conversion'; they are 'carnal Christians' who have not yet learned to live a surrendered life. Ernest Reisinger examines this suggestion and the consequences which have resulted from its widespread acceptance.

Short Work on the Carnal Christian Teaching
By Seeking Disciple
Ernest Reisinger examines the modern church's teaching of the carnal Christian. In a nutshell, many such as Tony Evans, Charles Swindoll, and Charles Stanley teach that one can be saved and on their way to heaven but still living in obedience to Satan, the flesh, and the world. They take their text from 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 and seek to build a case that Paul's usage of the word "carnal" (KJV, NKJV) or "fleshly" (NASB; ESV) means that the Corinthians were living in sexual immorality, ungodliness, and outright sin yet Paul calls them not lost but carnal.
Is that biblical? Does the Scripture teach the preservation of the sinner while being a saint by position? Dr. Reisinger looks at this issue and seeks to show his position from the Scripture.
My only complaint of this book is a minor one and that is that it is simply too short. So many teach, practice, and believe in the carnal Christian idea and yet this work is one of the few to be found on the issue. Larger works are devoted to the carnal Christian teaching (see Stanley's ETERNAL SECURITY: CAN YOU BE SURE?; Swindoll's THE GRACE AWAKENING; Evans' THE PROMISE; Hodges' ABSOLUTELY FREE!; Chafer's HE THAT IS SPIRITUAL; and Ryrie's THE BALANCED CHRISTIAN LIFE).
For a detailed and biblical look at salvation, eternal security, and the carnal Christian teaching see Dan Corner's THE BELIEVER'S CONDITIONAL SECURITY.

The impossibility of the Title
By Reverend R. G. Johnson
This little booklet explodes the myth of three categories of humanity, namely the Unregenerate, the Carnal Christian and the genuinely Born Again. Reisinger's explanation of the terms shows the shallowness of a great deal of so-called evangelical "conversions" which require confession of Jesus Christ as Saviour but which neglect the most important confession and adoption of Jesus Christ as Lord!
Well worth the read to settle nervous minds as to the statement made by our Lord in Matthew 7:21-23 which many could hear on Judgement Day!

"American Christianity" debunked!
By research gurl
Brother Reisinger sums up everything that is wrong with "American Christianity" today. This is quite possible the shortest yet most biblical accurate and detailed account of what amounts to multitudes of false teachers selling tickets to Heaven.
The highlights include:
1.) The omission of repentance (this has been redefined and in many cases frowned upon as a "work" even though it is a gift from the Lord -Acts 11:18), and repentance is throughout the entirety of Scripture even when the actual word is not used.
2.) Wrong teaching on assurance (sure, you said a prayer when you were ten but are still doing drugs and making porn films thirty years later...no problem, it's called grace.)
3.) A low view of sin (when the average church looks like "da club" you used to frequent before the Lord saved you, you know you are in big trouble. The world has invaded the church, which is why holiness and righteousness are mocked.)
4.) A wrong view of Christ (this view, prevalent in the "churches" today, claim that one can take Christ as Saviour, but not as Lord. As if this part is somehow optional and Christ can be divided.)
Bottom Line: If Christ isn't Lord, then He can't save anyone! False teachers are telling unrepentant souls they are on their way to heaven, when they are in fact hell bound. They are teaching a repentance-less gospel that leaves people dead in their trespasses and sins. These same folks deny the new birth and regeneration- the new creature in Christ. This is why churches today are full of goats being entertained by wolves. This book sums it all up in 23 pages. Well worth the money. Get your highlighter ready. God bless
