EXCELLENT FOR ESL

This is an excellent practice book for use while teaching English as a Second Language. We all use it on different occasions and find vocabulary and pronunciation are vitally important for students. The games are rated and easy to use. Students seem to enjoy them and it makes it easier for teachers to plan their lessons.

Definitely a must!

As an EFL teacher, I have found this book really great. Students love playing games to reinforce (and increase) vocabulary and this book contains a great variety of games and topics to practice. Illustrations are very nice and this book can be adapted to different sizes of groups. I have even adapted some of the games to other languages obtaining great results. Although we tend to think games are mostly for children or teenagers, this book has proven succesful also with adults. Don't miss it.

Nothing Special

When I got this book, I should have looked at it more closely. I would have returned it. This is money you can save.
In my opinion, some of the examples used in the book are not strong examples of resumes. There is nothing new about some of the suggestion. For example, " lead with strong verbs." " Be specific' You can find these suggestions on any career website. There were no examples of cover letters or letters of interest.
If you decide to order this book, I suggest you use Amazon Prime and order another guide at the same time. Compare the two. That way you can make your own decision and send back the one you don't want.
The lesson that I have learned is to always review your orders carefully, within the 30 days that Prime gives you to return it. That is the most important piece of information that I have gotten from this experience.

Still in the early stages of tackling my resume revamp. Solid advice presented in easy to read format. Finding the real world illustrations and nuggets sprinkled throughout each chapters very helpful.

A 'must-have' book for Alcatel-Lucent Service Routers' users

The book is devided into three different parts:
1st. Brief introduction of QoS concepts
2nd. The main one. A comprehensive description of how the theoretical concepts introduced in the first part are implemented in Alcatel-Lucent Service Routers.
3rd. A brief case study about how to design the QoS of an IP/MPLS network of Alcatel-Lucent Service Routers.

This book is compulsory for somebody studing to get Alcatel-Lucent certifications and also, as a reference book, for Alcatel-Lucent Service Routers' networks architects who are responsible for IP/MPLS networks QoS design.
If you are looking for a book of theory about QoS in IP/MPLS networks, this is not your book, as it is mainly focused on how QoS policies can be implemented in Alcatel Lucent Service Routers.
Before reading the book, I would also recommend becoming familiar with Service Router's concepts like SAPs, SDPs, how services are configured, etc. It will help you to better understand the frequent command line interface listings.
Mr. Balakrishnan is able to clearly describe a very complex issue like the implementation of QoS policies in a routing platform is and provides the reader with valuable 'best-practices' for Alcatel-Lucent's Service Routers' QoS policies design and also with command line interface listings.
In a nutshell, this book gives you an extraordinary description of all the possibilities that IP/MPLS networks, consisting of Alcatel Lucent Service Routers, offer, when defining their QoS policies.

It's a good book, but incomplete

I don't know anything about QOS before reading this book, and I did learn something after reading this book. QoS is a complex topic, it's not easy to present many concepts in a clear way. This book covered many QOS facilities and did a good job -- for the concepts covered, they were covered well. However, it missed quite a few important facilities. For example, I did not find queue group, port scheduler, policer, etc in the book. After reading the book, I am still not clear on why policies were partitioned into ingress and egress on SAP side (SAP ingress & egress policies), but policies were partitioned into fc/marking mapping and queue on network side (network QoS policies & network queue policies)... why cannot SAP policies and network policies be partitioned in consistent way... lots of question marks still spin in mind after reading the book. Also, as a learner, I feel more examples would be helpful.

This is a really well written book on QOS in the 7750 router. Full on nice color filled illustrations.
Highly recommended if you have manage and design in th tripple play environment.

This book is way better than the sh**ty lawyer that I had to fire. I wish I would have found this book way sooner. This older version of the book is a great way to save about $25 and it includes references if you need to check on the specifics of the information provided. However, I wish I would have saved the $2,200 I spent on my former useless lawyer and simply bought the newest version of this book along with several other legal guides online. This book is easy to read and super user friendly. I'm really loving it! :)

Excellent Coverage of Federal Employee Rights

The book is comprehensive in its coverage of federal employee rights no matter the federal department, agency, etc., involved. It's intended for those without legal training, but the book was sufficiently thorough that I found it helpful as an attorney. Anyone relying on the information in the book should keep in mind it's publication date, as there have been some changes in federal law and some agency's procedures since that date, but the book provides references to permit the reader to verify that the information provided remains current.

Despite description, this is specifically a workbook for therapy clients, not "self help"

This book definitely has some useful exercises, but its specifically laid out to be completed with a therapist, unlike the description indicates, where it says its "for completion with a therapist OR on your own."

It constantly tells you to go over things with your therapist and creates many questions that you would need or want to ask about (ironically, it makes you anxious). So, kind of useless for someone who is working on self help for some mild to moderate anxiety issues.

If anxiety doesn't control your life and you don't feel you need to contact a therapist or aren't seeing one at this point, this book is probably too much for you. Seems more like a textbook your therapist would assign or recommend AFTER you've begun structured treatment and have a CBT plan, not something to be picked up on your own.

Very basic. Touches upon some facets of social anxiety but for a workbook such as this I was expecting more hands on, useful information to work with patients. I can create more up to date materials based on the research.
